Saythreehailmary's Trying for Third Straight Win in $100,000 Biogio's Rose Stakes
On Sunday at Aqueduct, the featured race is the $100,000 Biogios Rose Stakes. Restricted to fillies and mares bred in New York, the race will be held at a mile and a sixteenth and has drawn a field of six.
Saythreehailmary’s tops the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 2-1 for trainer John Morrison. Bred and owned by Very Un Stable, the five-year-old daughter of Repent is a six-time winner and a multiple stakes winner. She is coming into this race off of two consecutive stakes victories and was last seen winning the Ladies Handicap at Aqueduct. Manuel Franco will be aboard and they will break from post position two.
Sheriffa trying to return to form
Second choice at morning line odds of 3-1 is Sheriffa for trainer Linda Rice. A five-year-old daughter of Posse, she has been on the board in fifteen of her twenty starts and is a six-time winner. She is trying to move forward off of her last race and was fifth against allowance competition. Cornelio Velasquez will be aboard and they will break from the rail as she goes for her third stakes win.
In Spite of Mama making a step up in class
Also in the field at morning line odds of 5-1 is In Spite of Mama for trainer Michael Maker. A four-year-old daughter of Speightstown, she is a homebred for William Butler and has won three of her fourteen starts. She is stepping up in class and will try to earn her first stakes victory after winning an allowance race last time out. Jose Ortiz will be aboard and they will break from the outside post as she tries for a breakthrough win.
