Sudden Surprise Looks Like No Surprise in $100,000 New York Stallion Stakes

Sudden Surprise headlines the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 9-5 for trainer Todd Pletcher. A bay son of Giant Surprise, he is a homebred for Repole Stable and has won five of his eight starts. He has gone winless from two starts this year and will be trying to rebound after finishing sixth in the Jimmy Winkfield Stakes. He is trying to earn his first stakes victory and will be making his stakes debut after a fourth-place finish in an optional claiming race. Junior Alvarado will be in the irons and they will break from post position four.
